Arsenal Academy U-16 & U-18!
« on: June 22, 2009, 11:51:53 PM »
Arsenal senior ditangani Arsene Wenger,
Arsenal Reserves oleh Neil Banfield,
Arsenal U-18 oleh Steve Bould,

Nah, Arsenal U-16 ini oleh Steve Gatting... AFC putih  AFC Merah

Ada 5 pemain berprospek cerah yang bisa dipantau untuk musim depan:

Luke Chambers (Goalkeeper)

Many bemoan Arsenal’s lack of young English goalkeepers with potential, but highly rated Luke Chambers is hoping to smash that stereotype and develop into a future star after re-joining the Gunners last summer.

After leaving for Derby County as a schoolboy, he returned having transformed his fortunes from a nobody to one of the most sought after prospects around. Luke’s form for the Under 15’s and Under 16’s has seen his stock rise even further with Liverpool believed to be very interested in snapping him up.

But Chambers is almost certain to bring his excellent kicking and superb agility to the fore next term as he becomes back up for the Under 18’s – while still keeping his role as Under 16’s first choice.

Samir Bihmoutine (Left Wing)

Nacer Barazite and the newly departed Samir Carruthers blazed the trial of Arsenal starlets who are of Moroccan descent, and Young Guns would like to introduce the latest in the series – versatile midfielder Samir Bihmoutine.

Yet unlike the aforementioned duo, Bihmoutine fully intents to honour his heritage by opting to play for Morocco in the future despite being born elsewhere. The Barkingside based player has already attracted attention from fans of the North African country who believe the prospect could be a key player in the future.

The left footed left winger – who can also play left back or up front – has slowly broken onto the scene this season with the show piece coming during this summers Atalanta Cup campaign. He led the charge in what proved to be an unsuccessful and rather disappointing tournament. Samir also chipped in with a goal – something which Steve Gatting’s boys struggled for.

Strikes against Portsmouth and Tottenham for the Under 16’s cemented Bihmountine’s position as one to watch. But goal scoring is just a surprise bonus for the youngster. Known more for his aggressive and powerful approach to defending and tackling, it’s not yet clear when his long term position will be but the left back slot would probably suit Samir best.

Next term should see Samir turning out for Steve Bould’s Under 18’s but with competition in the form of newly signed scholar George Brislen-Hall, the battle to be the Gunners’ number 3 will certainly be interesting.

Jordan Wynter (Defender)

Versatile Jordan Wynter is another ‘unknown’ with massive potential. He made three appearances for the Under 18’s towards the end of last season where he looked comfortably at home. Capable of playing at centre back, right back, central midfield or on the right wing, Wynter brings power, pace and a fierce shot to the side.

The coaching staff will need to settle him into one set position in the next 12 months but his imposing style and quick feet will surely be right at home in the competitive Academy League.

Zak Ansah (Striker)

Free-scoring striker Zak Ansah exploded onto the scene towards the closing stages of last season where his lethal finishing helped the Under 18’s finish strongly. He is theyoungest of all the players featured today yet probably one of the most important ahead of the new season. He may be forced to start the campaign in the Under 16’s, but Zak should be a regular in the Under 18’s once the season really gets going.

A classy finisher with pace and awesome strength, watch out for the Young Guns Player of the Month for April.

Chuks Aneke (Midfielder)

He’s already played and scored for Steve Bould’s Under 18’s, represented England and signed scholarship terms, yet Chuks Aneke is still a relative unknown among many Gooners. A giant and imposing central midfielder, the starlet is a powerhouse in every sense of the word. Whether he’s defending his own box with powerful and crunching challenges, or barging his way through the middle of the park to unleash a powerful shot, Aneke is a handful.

Next season the youngster should establish himself as one of the lynch-pins of Bould’s Under 18’s with the potential promotion to the Reserves a real possibility for the enforcer.

Better Coverage

Let’s start with better coverage. Most fans love to hear about the prospects coming through the ranks but the club’s official websites are often slow in giving details and when they do its sketchy, and not in depth. Arsenal fans can get detailed accounts of all things going on in the Reserves and Youth teams with specialist sites such as Young Guns. Tottenham do not have any such breakaway sites which focus on this side of the club, meaning information on prospects is limited. Arsenal TV also show highlights of Under 18 games, something Spurs TV do not.

More Successful

Arsenal have been more successful when it comes to winning trophies. Arsenal beat Tottenham to win the first League trophy since it was reformed. They also collected the gong this year, adding to successes at Under 19 and Under 17 level previously. The Gunners have also lifted the Youth Cup more times – seven times toTottenham’s two.

Better Setup

Arsenal’s setup is arguably better than Tottenham’s. Spurs have announced they will no longer be entertaining the Reserves next season instead opting to loan and arrange friendlies. Many believe the Reserves is a key part to development as it not only gives kids something to aim for and the chance to play against experienced pro’s, but many scouts use second string games for watching players before loaning them. Spurs will hope seeing them in non competitive friendlies and Under 18 fixtures will be enough to tempt good quality football league club’s into loaning them.

The setup that Arsenal have is as perfect as you can get. It gives players promotions at the right time before eventually getting them ready for the first team.

Spurs Sign Arsenal’s Rejects

Spurs always seem interested in our cast offs, whereas Arsenal are not interested in Tottenham’s. In recent seasons released duo Lee Butcher and Anton Blackwood have both headed across North London despite being Arsenal fans. Much travelled Jason Banton also went there from the Gunners but eventually quit. They also handed a trial to troubled striker Ahmed Abdulla last summer but he rebuffed Tottenham to move to West Ham. They also have David Bentley and Jamie O’Hara who had limited success while with Arsenal.

Better Futures For Players Who Leave Rejects

The number one reason why Arsenal’s Academy is better than Tottenham’s is – because the players who leave go on to have better careers. Arsenal graduates are usually sought after when they’re available for transfer and we’ve seen with the likes of Matthew Upson, Jermaine Pennant, Jeremie Aliadiere and David Bentley go on to play in the Premiership and in some circumstances for their country. They may not have all started out with Arsenal, but being educated in the Arsenal way was no doubt key to their success.

Tottenham youngsters are proven not to have gone on to big things after leaving. The majority end up in the football league with the odd exception. But without doubt, Arsenalhave had more success with the unfortunate players who don’t make it.

Hahaha... AFC Merah AFC putih

Btw, update soal McDermott:

Norwegian born Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Sean McDermott is currently busy arranging his housing and schooling after completing his switch to Arsenal two weeks ago. Yet the reported $7 million dollars (£4.3 million) fee is wrong. The number of 7 million is correct, but the fee is in Norwegian kroner. This means that the 1 million the Gunners paid up front is infact only £100,000. The rest of the money is based on appearances and targets met meaning the fee could eventually finish at £700,000.

We’d like to apologise for this mistake, and at the same time introduce a video of Sean. It shows an interview with the 16-year-old at his former school in Kristiansand. He was there saying goodbye to his friends and teachers before having a final kick around. For those who have never seen the stopper in action – there is also footage of him training with IK Våg.

Capello Puji Arsenal Academy
Sistem pembinaan pemain muda yang dikembangkan Arsenal patut diikuti klub-klub lain.
07 Jul 2009 15:40:10

Pelatih timnas Inggris Fabio Capello memuji sitem pembinaan pemain muda yang dikembangkan Arsenal. Menurutnya, model yang dikembangkan The Gunners layak diikuti semua klub.
