For a second-year scholar, Jeffrey already possesses a wealth of experience at under-18 level and, in fact, made more Premier Academy League appearances than any other player at the club last season, featuring in all but three of the 28 matches.

Predominantly a right-winger, but also capable of playing on the left-flank, Jeffrey was often deployed as a central striker last season in the absence of regular strikers Zak Ansah, Philip Roberts and Nigel Neita.

Although not the most prolific player, he possesses explosive pace and is a diligent worker, qualities that have endeared him to Steve Bould and the rest of the club’s coaching staff. He found the net on the opening day of the season, in the 5-2 defeat to Manchester City, with a superb strike from what seemed an impossible angle, and also scored the only goal in the victory over Ipswich in January, but will be seeking to find the net with more regularity in the new campaign.

Hale End product Jeffrey also featured in the FA Youth Cup win over Darlington and was close to making his Reserve debut against Aston Villa, but remained an unused substitute.

"My beliefs have always been the same. I am happy that the people who love the club are happier, but I've always had faith in what I have been doing."
