Quote
The talented youngster, who has been with Arsenal since the age of eight, has earned international recognition with England at Under-16 level.

Skilful and quick with an eye for goal, Alex can play on either wing or just behind the striker in a three-pronged attack. While capable of scoring goals, Alex has also built up a reputation as a creative forward who can play an incisive pass.
He is the nephew of former Nigeria international Jay-Jay Okocha.

Some of the senior members of the U18 team also play for Arsenal Reserves. The current head coach is Steve Gatting replacing Pat Holland who was in charge less than two months after the promotion of former Arsenal defender Steve Bould. The younger teams are coached by Roy Massey and Kwame Ampadu while former Arsenal midfielder and Republic of Ireland international Liam Brady oversees the overall youth development setup at the club with his assistant David Court.

Alex Iwobi has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined us as a nine year old and has come through our Hale End Academy. Since breaking into the first team in 2015, he has made 98 appearances, scoring nine goals.

Alex is also a Nigeria international, with six goals in 20 games for the senior team so far.

Head coach Unai Emery said: Im very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us. He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.

We would like to congratulate Alex on his new contract and look forward to his continued contribution to the club.
