Talented striker Zak saw his 2010/11 campaign somewhat hampered by a shoulder problem that kept him out for over half the season, but he ended the campaign on a high, impressing in the Dallas Cup, scoring for the under-18s and signing his first professional contract.

Having broken into, and scored, for the under-18s whilst still a schoolboy, much was expected from Ansah in his first season as a scholar, but the England under-17 international was ruled out in September with an injury that would keep him out until February.

Upon his return, however, Ansah was determined to make up for lost time, and made his debut for the Reserves against Chelsea before going on to score five times for the under-18s before the campaign’s conclusion, including a brace on the last day of the season against MK Dons.

A further Reserve appearance followed, against West Ham, and this season Zak, who possesses an impressive scoring record at under-18 level, will be looking to step up to the Reserves on a regular basis, having already impressed at the Dallas Cup last season.
